OBJECTIVES

PACD Mission
PACD is a nonprofit corporation that supports, enhances, and promotes Pennsylvania's Conservation Districts and their programs.

1 - Increase the Visibility of PACD with the State Legislature

  • Maintain a part-time Government Relations/Policy Specialist position
  • Seek amendments to Act 217 (if approved by members)
  • Comment on other legislation affecting conservation districts and their programs
  • Revise Capitol Day program

2 - Represent Conservation Districts with State Government

  • Evaluate and comment on proposed programs for conservation districts
  • Review and comment on revisions to existing programs and regulatory changes
  • Seek adequate funding for conservation district programs

3 - Develop and Increase PACD Financial Resources

  • Eliminate PACD debt
  • Increase non-dues revenue
  • Obtain more staff time dedicated to PACD activities
  • Increase services to members (such as educational mini-grants and the PACD Engineering Assistance Program)

4 - Increase the Visibility of PACD to its Members and the Public

  • Develop a public relations plan
  • Revise the PACD awards program
  • Maintain PACD web site as a clearinghouse for members and others
  • Develop new relationships and partnerships with other organizations (such as CCAP, PSATS, etc.)

5 - Play an Active Role in the Building for Tomorrow Leadership and Professional Development Program

  • Ensure that PACD staff and members participate on the Leadership Development Committee
  • Facilitate the training and development of District Directors and Staff at PACD functions
