OBJECTIVES

PACD Mission
PACD is a nonprofit corporation that supports, enhances, and promotes
Pennsylvania's Conservation Districts and their programs.
1 - Increase the Visibility of PACD with the State Legislature
- Maintain a part-time Government Relations/Policy Specialist position
- Seek amendments to Act 217 (if approved by members)
- Comment on other legislation affecting conservation districts and
their programs
- Revise Capitol Day program
2 - Represent Conservation Districts with State Government
- Evaluate and comment on proposed programs for conservation districts
- Review and comment on revisions to existing programs and regulatory
changes
- Seek adequate funding for conservation district programs
3 - Develop and Increase PACD Financial Resources
- Eliminate PACD debt
- Increase non-dues revenue
- Obtain more staff time dedicated to PACD activities
- Increase services to members (such as educational mini-grants and
the PACD Engineering Assistance Program)
4 - Increase the Visibility of PACD to its Members and the Public
- Develop a public relations plan
- Revise the PACD awards program
- Maintain PACD web site as a clearinghouse for members and others
- Develop new relationships and partnerships with other organizations
(such as CCAP, PSATS, etc.)
5 - Play an Active Role in the Building for Tomorrow Leadership
and Professional Development Program
- Ensure that PACD staff and members participate on the Leadership
Development Committee
- Facilitate the training and development of District Directors and
Staff at PACD functions
