Conservation District ProgramsStormwater Management A few conservation districts work with the PA Department of Environmental Protection to administer Act 167 Stormwater Management Studies. These conservation districts work in cooperation with local municipalities to complete studies that examine stormwater drainage on a watershed basis as opposed to a municipal basis. Other conservation districts provide general guidance and direction to local governments on stormwater management. Conservation districts also provide education and training on best management practices (BMPs) for developing areas that address issues such as stormwater to improve water quality. For more information on stormwater management, visit the PA Department of Environmental Protection's web site. For more information on best management practices that address stormwater, see PACD's BMP manual. |
