Conservation District ProgramsWildlife Management Although wildlife management is not a primary program in many conservation districts, some districts employ staff with professional training in wildlife management. They use their expertise to enhance wildlife habitat through programs such as the Conservation Reserve Program, Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program, Forest Stewardship, Stormwater Management, Riparian Buffers, Greenways, Chesapeake Bay Program, Dirt and Gravel Roads Program, etc. Conservation districts also work in partnership with other agencies and organizations such as: National Association of Conservation Districts and others, to educate the public and promote wildlife conservation in their communities. |
