Technician The Lancaster County Conservation District is seeking a qualified
individual to fill a full time position as an Agriculture Conservation Technician.
This position requires excellent organization, communication and technical skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly is a must. Self motivated
applicants are appreciated. The successful applicant will be responsible for contracted
and delegated duties under various District programs. Technicians will review
nutrient management plans, perform annual on-farm status reviews, evaluate farm
operations to determine conservation needs, develop conservation plans to address
those conservation needs and then assist operators with the implementation of
conservation practices to address the identified conservation needs. Upon employment,
candidate will be required to complete a Federal background investigation questionnaire. Minimum
qualifications are: - Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Agronomy,
Soil Science, Plant Science, Animal Science or related environmental studies preferred
- Valid
drivers license and personal vehicle
- Ability to traverse rough terrain
Entry
level salary $28,000 - $30,000. Mid-level salary commensurate with experience
and/or Nutrient Management Certification. Signing bonus and excellent benefit
