E & S Control Technician / GIs Specialist
The Armstrong Conservation District is accepting applications
for an Erosion and Sediment Control Technician / GIs Specialist
until May 23, 2008 or until the position is filled by the
Board of Directors. This position is full time (40 hours per week)
and benefit eligible. The incumbent serves as an Erosion and Sediment
Control Technician for a portion of Armstrong County, while also
administering and implementing the Dirt and Gravel Road Program
and managing all aspects of the District GIs Program.
Candidates shall possess at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in a
natural resource field from an accredited university or have an
equivalent combination of education and experience in a related

Professional sought by the Blair Conservation District to act as an Agricultural Ombudsman for a grant funded program. A bachelor's degree in an agricultural, environmental law, communication related field is desirable. Appropriate previous experience may be considered. Applicants need a strong understanding of agriculture and applicable federal, state, and municipal regulations to function state-wide as an advisor and liaison on issues that may generate conflict. A working knowledge of conservation districts, strong people skills and ability to serve as an intermediary are desirable. Additional requirements include: basic computer skills, a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, ability to travel and work some evenings and overnights, strong organizational skills in meeting and training organization, experience in public speaking and the ability to deal with controversial matters in a public setting. Resource Conservation Technician
The Blair Conservation District has a vacancy for a full time Resource Conservation Technician to complete duties associated with the Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control and NPDES Regulations and the District's Dirt & Gravel Road Program. Primary duties include: Review and Approval of E&S plans, Site/Complaint Inspections, NPDES Permit Processing, Contracting with municipalities for Dirt & Gravel Road Projects and educational endeavors. Minimum requirements: B.S. degree in Engineering, Geoscience or Environmental Resource related field; or combination of related experience and training; strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of construction operations and permitting processes; and reliable transportation for field visits. This is a full time position, 35 hours per week, as an Employee of the Conservation District. Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evening hours. Salary plus benefits commensurate upon experience.

Agricultural Resource Conservationist

Position Description
The person chosen for this position will provide technical
and financial assistance to local landowners in order to conserve
soil, and to protect and enhance Chester County's natural resources.
The Conservation District works actively with farmers to bring them
into compliance with environmental regulations while providing a
benefit to the landowner. As a resource conservationist, the chosen
candidate will be responsible for field implementation of conservation
practices, development and review of mushroom farm environmental
management plans and conservation plans, administration and reporting
for respective watershed programs, and provision of financial assistance.
Other responsibilities will include complaint investigation, environmental
education, and direct contact with site contractors.
The selected candidate will hold a Baccalaureate Degree with major
course emphasis in agriculture, geography, geology, biology, planning,
environmental science, other natural sciences, or equivalent work
experience. The position requires approximately 50% of time spent
in the field on possible rough terrain and a valid drivers license.
Candidate must be computer literate, a self-starter, and a team
player. Direct experience with the agricultural industry and bilingual
capabilities are desired.
This is a full time position with a starting salary of $40,815 per
year with fringe benefits. Funding for this position is on a year-to-year
basis.

The Clearfield County Conservation District is seeking
a qualified individual to fill a full time position as a Conservation
Specialist. This position requires excellent communication, technical,
and organizational skills. The successful applicant will be responsible
for contracted and delegated duties under various conservation programs.
This position will include Erosion and Sedimentation control, agricultural
conservation planning, and conservation education and outreach.

The Lancaster County Conservation District is seeking to fill a vacancy in the Erosion Control Department. The person in this position will have a blend of both administrative and technical duties and will be responsible for local implementation of several state-delegated regulatory programs. Responsibilities will include plan review, site inspection, complaint handling, enforcement, and permit issuance.
The successful applicant must possess good written and oral communications skills, be able to interpret topographic survey maps and engineered drawings, and have the ability to traverse physically challenging terrain. Preference will be given to persons having a BS degree in a technical field and a CPESC certification. Applicant must have a valid driver's license. Upon employment, candidate will be required to complete a Federal background investigation questionnaire.
