Educational Mini-Grants Available through PACD

Conservation districts have been encouraged to identify and prioritize activities that are needed to support their County Implementation Plans (CIPs). The Chesapeake Bay and Nonpoint Source Pollution Prevention Educational Mini-Grant Programs, administered by the PACD, could provide a means of financial assistance for educational activities that help support or supplement a district's CIP.

PACD is accepting Mini-Grant Program applications through May 15, 2006. A maximum of $2,500 will be awarded for educational projects that address Chesapeake Bay or other nonpoint source pollution issues.

Exhibits, farm tours, water quality studies, workshops and publications are some activities that have been supported by the Mini-Grant programs. Additional grant application information, including a full listing of previously funded projects and sample products can be found on the PACD website, http://www.pacd.org/products/mini_programs.htm.

The educational Mini-Grant programs are funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Chesapeake Bay Program and the Environmental Protection Agency's Section 319 program.
