News & Notes February 2006
PACD Executive Council Votes On Awards Program
The PACD Executive Board examined PACD awards program
participation over the past nine years and costs associated with administering
the program. At the Executive Council meeting on January 20, the Council
decided to realign the awards to be more consistent with PACD's mission.
As a result, there are four new PACD Conservation Awards for 2006.
The Ann Rudd Saxman Conservation District Director (or Associate Director)
Excellence Award, Conservation District Employee Excellence Award, and
PACD President's Award will be presented at the PACD/SCC Joint Annual
Conference.
Another change that the Executive Council voted on is to discontinue
the PACD Poster Contest. PACD will however, continue to facilitate districts'
participation in the NACD Poster Contest by coordinating the state level
judging and sending those winners on to the national competition.
