News & Notes January 2003PACD Announces Changes to Awards Program The PACD Executive Board has announced changes to the association's Annual Awards Program effective immediately. The Executive Board recently reviewed the awards program and made changes to reduce both the cost of the program and the application burden on conservation districts. The goal of the revamping is to increase program participation. The changes will improve the awards program by consolidating some awards, therefore making it easier to apply. The streamlined PACD Annual Awards Program will encompass eight different awards instead of the previous 13. The changes will allow more flexibility in the application process. The table highlights changes made to the awards. The four "new" awards were created by consolidating several previous ones. Four of the awards remain the same and the William Lange Urban Conservation Award was expanded to include organizations. The far right column of the table indicates who is eligible to receive the award.
Application forms and other information for the revised award program are posted on the web at www.pacd.org. Please review the new forms and ask your district to submit applications as soon as possible. The deadline for submissions for this year is February 28, 2003. |
