Symposium a Success!

Over 200 people attended DEP's Water Reuse and Recycle Symposium held May 19-20, at the Penn Stater Conference Center in State College. The attendees represented a mix of local government, private industry
and conservation district staff. Twenty-four speakers and 28 exhibitors were also in attendance.

PACD was a co-sponsor of the event, handling the administrative and logistical details. Other co-sponsors included the Pennsylvania Water
Environment Association, Pennsylvania Section - American Water Works Association, Water Reuse Association, Pennsylvania Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association, Pennsylvania Association of Sewage Enforcement Officers, Pennsylvania Septage Management Association and Pennsylvania Rural Water Association.

Highlights included opening remarks by DEP Acting Secretary Kathleen McGinty, tours of the University Area Joint Authority and tours of Penn State's Center for Sustainability's Living Machine project.
