PACD Hires Conservation Technician in Lebanon Office

In September, PACD added a new staff member in its Engineering Technical Assistance Program. The position is funded through the Department of Environmental Protection's Growing Greener grant program and through a contribution agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Adam Hartz will serve as Conservation Technician in the Lebanon Technical Office. Adam graduated from Delaware Valley College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy. Adam has extensive experience working with a variety of agricultural operations including equipment operation and maintenance, planting and harvesting, and caring for beef cattle, finish swine, and layer chickens.

Currently, Adam lives and works part-time on a seven acre farm that his parents own. He and his brother are starting a small produce business in which they will grow produce on one acre to sell at a weekly market. In his free time, he participates in the Blue Mountain Antique Gas and Steam Engine Club where he operates and maintains an antique Case steam tractor.

Adam can be reached at the Lebanon Technical Office at 717-274-2597 x124 or adam-hartz@pacd.org.
