Beetle to Speak at Harrisburg River Celebration

Harrisburg, PA-Are you a beetle fan? While we don't expect this beetle to break into song, "The BugMobile,™" a Volkswagen beetle painted to resemble a lady bug, will "talk" at the annual Susquehanna River Celebration, on June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Harrisburg's Carousel Pavilion. Both educational and entertaining, the car travels to special events sharing practical and environmentally friendly tips on managing pests around the home and yard.

Along with "The BugMobile™" (and its live insect collection), numerous other surprises await you at the Celebration. A guided tour, for instance, aboard the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat is scheduled for 3 p.m. Discounted tickets will be available the day of the event.

Other activities centered on Celebration's We All Live Downstream theme include exhibits, music, puppet shows, games, crafts, live animals and food. Admission to the Susquehanna River Celebration is free and the event will be held rain or shine.

The River Celebration is co-sponsored by the PA Chesapeake Bay Education Office (administered by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc.), the City of Harrisburg, and The River 97.3 WRVV. Financial support is provided through an education grant with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Chesapeake Bay Program.
