Update on Water Resource Committees

The six Regional Water Resource Committees that were appointed in October to guide the development of a State Water Plan for Pennsylvania have had their introductory meeting. Ron Rohall, a Westmoreland County Conservation District Director, was elected Chairman of the Ohio Regional Committee. Don Robinson, Manager of the Lancaster County Conservation District, was elected Interim Chairman of the Lower Susquehanna Regional Committee.

The first regular committee meetings will be held in December. From here, the committees will work to create recommendations to the Statewide Water Resources Committee which will review and approve the updated State Water Plan.

Strategic Planning Update

The 2003 PACD strategic planning goals were approved by the PACD Executive Council in October. These goals are posted at http://www.pacd.org/about/strategicplan/planning.htm. The next step in the strategic planning process is for PACD to develop an action plan. Once the plan is developed, it will be shared with the members and implemented.
