News & Notes February 2004

PACD Needs Your Letters of Support

The PACD is in the process of preparing a Growing Greener grant application for another Technical Assistance Grant to support the PACD Engineering Assistance Program. We need letters of support from conservation districts, watershed organizations, Resource Conservation & Development Councils, and other partners for the PACD application.

Please help PACD to continue this important program by sending a letter of support for the PACD Growing Greener grant application for the PACD Engineering Technical Assistance Program to the PACD office by February 27, 2004.

Thanks for your support.

Pennsylvania Student Wins 2003 NACD Poster Contest

Ashley Gibbs, a student at Woodlyn Christian School, won the first place prize for the 10th-12th grade category in the 2003 NACD National Conservation Poster Contest. The contest provides kindergarten through 12th grade students an opportunity to share their thoughts about natural resources and related issues.

As a first place winner, Miss Gibbs will receive a $100 savings bond provided by the NACD Auxiliary. Congratulations to Ashley and the Delaware County Conservation District.
