River Celebration Offers Close Up Look at Honda's Hybrid

Harrisburg, PA-You've heard about hybrid vehicles, but have you seen one up close? Have you sat in one and strained to hear the amazingly quiet engine? Come to the Susquehanna River Celebration and take advantage of a unique opportunity to see a hybrid up close without the pressure of visiting a car dealership.

A representative from Bobby Rahal Honda of Mechanicsburg, PA will bring the popular 4-door Honda Civic Hybrid to the Susquehanna River Celebration which will be held Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Harrisburg's Carousel Pavilion on City Island. The representative will also be on hand to answer questions about the car such as, "How many miles can the Honda Civic Hybrid get on one tank of gas?" (Answer: 650) Or, "Do you have to plug the car in?" (Answer: no!).

Checking out the hybrid is only one activity to enjoy at the Susquehanna River Celebration. Activities for the whole family include live music, puppet shows, games, crafts, live animals, demonstrations, food, face painting and exhibits. These activities are aimed to promote the event's theme, We All Live Downstream. The event will be held rain or shine. Admission is free.

The event is co-sponsored by the PA Chesapeake Bay Education Office (administered by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc.), the City of Harrisburg, and The River 97.3 WRVV. Financial support for the event is provided through an education grant with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. For more information call (717) 238-PACD (7223).
