Participants Announced for 2002-2003
Mini-Project Grant Program

PACD recently announced the grant recipients for the 2002-2003 Pennsylvania Chesapeake Bay and Educational Mini-Project Program and Section 319 Nonpoint Source Pollution Prevention Mini-Project Program.

The programs provide up to $1,000 for grassroots educational activities designed to improve water quality and promote the theme "We All Live Downstream." A total of 22 projects are now officially underway.

Funding for the Mini-Project Program is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

319 Non-point Source Pollution Prevention Mini Projects:

  • Blair County Conservation District: Living Within Your Watershed, How to Make it a Success
  • Cambria County Conservation District: Cambria County Nutrient Management Education Display
  • Centre County Conservation District: Best Management Practices - Soil Erosion Control Field Tour
  • Fayette County Conservation District: 2003 Fayette County Children's Water Festival
  • Indiana County Conservation District: Poster Contest/We All Live Downstream Placemats
  • Jefferson County Conservation District: Stream Table Demonstrations
  • Lebanon County Conservation District: Lebanon County Watershed Forum
  • Mifflin County Conservation District: Mifflin County Innovative Stormwater Design Workshop
  • Pike County Conservation District: The Combined Impacts of Drought and Non-point Source Pollution on Water Resources
  • Pike County Conservation District: Best Management Practices for Special Protection Watersheds - Part II

  • Bedford County Conservation District: Integrated Pest Management and The Chesapeake Bay
  • Bedford High School (Bedford County): Chesapeake Bay Watershed Biodiversity Study of Freshwater Mussels
  • Federation of Fly Fishers - Little Juniata Chapter and Blair County Conservation District: Little Juniata River Chapter Newsletter Education and Outreach
  • Centre County Conservation District: Streambank Fencing and Grazing Tour
  • Fulton County Conservation District: Farm City Tours: Increasing the Knowledge and Awareness of the Chesapeake Bay Program
  • Fulton County Conservation District: Second Annual Fulton County Water Resources Forum
  • Indiana County Conservation District: Public Awareness, Chesapeake Bay Headwaters
  • Huntingdon Area Middle School (Huntingdon County): Local Watershed Studies/Assessments
  • Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition of Abandoned Mine Reclamation (Luzerne County): EPCAMR 3-D Display - Mine Drainage in a Mine Pool
  • Northumberland County Conservation District: Water Test Kits for Distribution at the Watershed Awareness Festival
  • Schuylkill County Conservation District: Non-point Source Pollution Education Program for Schuylkill County
  • Snyder County Conservation District: Snyder County Farmer's Winter Meeting
