Support Growing Greener II
At the March PACD meeting, the PACD Executive Council voted to support
Governor Rendell's Quality of Life Initiative (Growing Greener II) which
aims to:
Clean up Pennsylvania's polluted streams;
Reclaim abandoned mines and toxic waste sites for productive
uses;
Invest in new alternative energy sources;
Preserve farmland, protecting open space and improving our
recreation resources; and
Restore communities and expanding affordable housing.
PACD urges it's members to speak with their legislators and ask them
to support this initiative. It will be an important source of future
funding for programs such as acid mine drainage and the Conservation
Reserve Enhancement Program. Please call your legislators today and
ask them to support Growing Greener II.
Support PACD Through the Endowment Fund
The Endowment Fund was established to provide funds for efforts that
"aid and/or promote conservation efforts in Pennsylvania,"
according to the PACD bylaws. Contributions to the Fund are tax deductible,
and are a great way to recognize a birthday, retirement or other special
occasion, or to honor the memory of someone.
Donations to the Endowment Fund are placed in an interest-bearing account.
PACD may spend only interest from the Fund each year for activities
approved by the Endowment Fund Committee.
Contributions to the fund are tax-deductible. Click on http://www.pacd.org/about/endowment/endowment_form.htm
for a copy of the Endowment Fund Contribution form. Or call the PACD
office at (717) 238-PACD (7223) and ask for an Endowment Fund envelope.
