News & Notes March 2005PA Wins Awards at NACD Annual Meeting During its annual meeting in Atlanta, NACD announced that
Pennsylvania had two winning students in the 2004 NACD National Conservation
Poster Contest. Mark Frederick of Altoona Central Catholic School, won
the first place prize for the 2-3rd grade category. Mark's poster was
submitted by the Blair County Conservation District. Emily Rose McKenna
of Norwood School, won the first place prize for the 4-6th grade category.
Emily's poster was submitted by the Delaware County Conservation District.
The contest provides kindergarten through 12th grade students an opportunity
to share their thoughts about natural resources and related issues through
art. Mark and Emily will receive a savings bond provided by the NACD
Auxiliary. Congratulations!

Emily Rose McKenna's poster Don't miss out on the 2005 PACD Annual Poster Contest. This year's theme is "Celebrate Conservation," (NACD Poster Contest theme). Posters are due to the PACD office by May 30, 2005.
PACD is offering two levels of sponsorship for its conservation awards
program. The levels are Award Sponsor ($500) and Award Supporter ($250).
These sponsorships are tax-deductible. Award Sponsors will be invited
to attend the PACD Awards Program luncheon and participate in the Awards
Program presentation. Award Supporters receive recognition in the Annual
Awards Luncheon program. If you would like to be a sponsor or supporter,
