Backyard Conservation
Bedford Conservation District hosted a public meeting about
"Backyard Conservation." The goal was to educate
a non-farm audience about conservation practices utilized
by farmers to conserve resources. It also included various

and landscaping.

Preparing for the Future - Preparing for Growth
Municipal officials from northern and southern Dauphin County
came together to discuss the future growth of their communities.
A panel presentation and open forum focused on controls for
nonpoint source pollution of surface and ground water. It
also looked at the need for regional cooperation at all levels
of government in matters concerning development and protection
of our resources. Greenways, open space, storm water runoff,
sewers, septic systems, and public water supply were among
the topics covered.
