2006 Farmer's Winter Meeting

The winter meeting educates farmers about ways they can prevent polluting surface and groundwater. A new edition of their "Agricultural BMP Guide" was distributed.

Agricultural BMP Guide, 2nd Edition (PDF), Agricultural BMP Guide, 2nd Edition (save this document to your computer before opening it) (Publisher) - Provides farmers with ideas of what BMPs can be installed on their farms to prevent sediment and nutrient pollution in local waters. Can be downloaded, edited and used by other counties.
Guest Speaker pre-invitation (PDF) - Early notice to speakers, including tentative agenda
Formal Guest Speaker invitation (PDF) - Letter/email to speakers with logistics
Follow-up to Guest Speakers (PDF) - Thank you letter to speakers

No-till Conversion Project

A trip to the PA No-till Alliance Meeting in State College for district farmers who have not converted to no-till farming was funded. Mennonite farmers in the county were targeted in mailings.

Follow-up Mailing (PDF) - A flyer advertising no-till incentives was sent to meeting participants who had not yet switched to no-till.
Follow-up Mailing (PDF) - A flyer advertising grass border incentives was also mailed to participants.
