Educational Resources
This website includes educational resources on the Chesapeake Bay,
nonpoint source pollution, and general conservation.
- Pennsylvania Chesapeake Bay Education Office
The Chesapeake Bay is our nation's largest and most productive
estuary. The Bay provides recreational and commercial opportunities
for humans and is "home" for many animals. This portion
of the PACD website offers resources and sample products to help
teach about Pennsylvania's impact on the Chesapeake Bay.
- Pennsylvania Nonpoint Source Pollution
Education Office
Nonpoint source pollution is difficult to pinpoint because it doesn't
come from a single source such as a sewage treatment plant or an
industrial discharge pipe. Nonpoint source pollution comes from
many sources such as farm fields and backyards. It occurs when rain
or snow carries sediment, oil, or other pollutants into waterways.
There are many control measures for nonpoint source pollution, but
education is the key to prevention. This portion of the PACD website
offers resources and sample products to help teach about controlling
nonpoint source pollution.
- Conservation Education
There are a variety of conservation issues affecting Pennsylvania's
land and water resources. This portion of the PACD website offers
links to resources and available grants from other agencies that
may be available to help support conservation district activities.
