This project assisted participating Pike County Community Associations
in identifying existing environmental problems, with a focus on water

in addressing common problems.

Natural Resources Field Studies of Schuylkill County-"A Workshop
on Wheels"
Participants visited sites featuring various environmental issues
and assessed the site for use with school programs. Teachers met with
conservation agency reps, evaluated handouts for classroom use, and
learned about environmental management techniques.

2002 Warren County Youth Conservation Camp
The Warren County Conservation District annually conducts a three-day
conservation education camp for 20 boys and girls between the ages
of 12 and 14. Campers spend the majority of their time in the field
learning about natural resources and their local community. Highlights
of the event are nonpoint source pollution prevention and general
conservation activities, including a canoe trip on the Allegheny River.
The purpose of the camp is to create an awareness and understanding
of the environment and the need for wise management of natural resources.
