Northern Lancaster County Watershed Education Project
The district created a watershed educational parade float and participated in three area parades in September and October, 2006. The goal of the float was to educate community residents on watershed stewardship, promote watershed protection and further enhance local grassroots watershed efforts in the county.

Watershed Model for Education
The district developed a portable, three-dimensional representation of a watershed for use at various public events. The model includes the geomorphology of a watershed, natural boundaries, groundwater, wetlands, hydrologic cycle, and the impact of development, among other features. The model is used to educate the public about the inter-relationship between a watershed and human and natural activities, and emphasize the importance of resource management and protection within a watershed.

Contact Boards for Watershed Education
Four contact boards were completed for the project, each with a unique theme relating to watershed education. The themes selected were: causes/effects of nonpoint source pollution, water conservation/water use, wetlands, and watershed concepts. The research and designs were completed by district staff and the artwork was done by a local artist. The boards will now be used for educational purposes related to watersheds.

A booth at the fair showcased NPS pollution prevention, district programs and hands-on activities/demonstrations. A brochure was also created to discuss NPSP.

Water Quality Education Display Board
Warren Conservation District purchased display board, and is developing a number of displays featuring water quality issues used to educate the general public. The district purchased a single display board, and will interchange the displays according to the event and the target audience. When not being used for an event, one of the displays is kept on exhibit at the district office.
