Adams Co. Citizens Water Monitoring Program
The goal of the project was to increase public awareness of how
human actions impact water quality as well as identify where the
most serious problems exist within the county's watersheds. The
formation and training of a group of citizens to monitor water
enabled the district to establish a baseline of water quality
data in Adams County. Water testing results were publicized.

Bob's Creek Watershed, State of the Streams
This project documented the water quality of two native trout
streams which are tributaries to Bob's Creek. This documentation
will establish baseline data and will become part of the long-term
restoration and protection plan for the streams.

Clarion River Watershed Monitoring Project
Teacher training incorporates ecological, economic and social
disciplines essential to understanding water quality issues facing
the Clarion River. A groundwater flow model was used in the classroom.
Students received instruction on water testing and conducted tests
on over 25 streams in the watershed.

Two Mile Run Water Monitoring Education Project
The Venango Conservation District instituted a water quality monitoring
and education project on the upper reaches of Two Mile Run. Equipment
has been purchased for water monitoring, and ongoing water monitoring
has been implemented. Groups of elementary school students have
used the equipment, learning about watersheds, ecosystems and
endangered species in the process. Future plans include expanding
the program to include middle and high school students.
