River otters have long, slim bodies, short legs, and webbed feet. They look like they were born to swim! River otters can swim faster than some world class athletes -- and that's pretty fast!!! River otters need clean water and lots of room to live and play. They mainly eat crayfish, minnows, suckers and sunfish. Many years ago they lived throughout Pennsylvania. Butas more people settled along rivers and polluted the water, river otters started to disappear. Today, river otters are coming back because people have learned new ways to control water pollution.
